Road Safety precautions before driving a Car

As a driver you have a responsibility for your life, your co-passenger’s lives and for the lives of others on the road. It is very important that you take care of your mental and physical health before embarking on a long drive. Most accidents on road are caused by drivers whose concentration, judgement and reaction times are clouded by tiredness, ill health or aggression.
Road Safety precautions before driving a car
- Are you dressed comfortably?
- Are you wearing appropriate footwear?
- Are you physically fit and mentally alert?
- Are you relaxed and focused on your driving?
- Can you hear and see properly?
- Are you free from effect of any medication or alcohol?
- Correct way of holding the steering wheel, as far as possible, is with both the hands at “Quarter to three” or “ten to two” positions as shown in the diagram see below. Some examples maneuvering of the steering wheel are given below.
